Built-in Agents
The agents that ship with Operator
Operator ships with three built-in agents available to every user. Pick one from the agent selector based on what you need to do — each has full knowledge of ERP.net and access to the tools appropriate for its role.
Advisor
Knows everything about ERP.net: features, configuration options, best practices, pricing, and how things fit together. Use it to learn about the system or get guidance before taking action.
- Read-only — does not change anything in your instance.
- Available without an instance connection, so it works even before you connect.
- Best for: "How does X work?", "What's the right way to configure Y?", "Which module covers Z?"
Business Specialist
The everyday workhorse. Reads and updates business data, manages documents, schedules meetings, sends mail, and handles routine operations across sales, purchasing, HR, finance, and any other business role.
- Acts on your instance — creates, updates, and processes real records.
- The default choice for getting things done.
- Best for: "Find this customer's open orders", "Create an invoice for…", "Schedule a follow-up for next Tuesday", "Reply to this email and log it on the case".
System Architect
For Power Users and above. Configures custom logic, workflows, settings, and specialized behavior. Solves complex business problems and designs how your instance works.
- Use it when you need to change how the system works, not just the data inside it.
- Best for: "Add a validation rule for…", "Configure a workflow that…", "Design a custom process for…".
Choosing an agent
A simple rule of thumb:
| You want to… | Use |
|---|---|
| Learn or get guidance | Advisor |
| Operate the business | Business Specialist |
| Configure how the system works | System Architect |
You can build your own agent on top of any of these. See Agents for how to create custom agents tailored to your workflows.
