Using Agents
Select agents, use @mentions, and understand conversation behavior
Selecting an Agent
Choose your agent from any of these locations:
| Location | How to access |
|---|---|
| Profile dropdown | Click your avatar → Agent submenu |
| Chat input "+" menu | Click "+" in chat input → Agent submenu |
| Home screen | Agent selector before starting a conversation |
Agents are grouped in the menu:
- System Agents — Built-in agents (Advisor, Business Specialist, System Architect, etc.)
- My Agents — Agents you created
- Shared with Me — Agents others shared with you
Home Screen Selection
The agent you select on the home screen becomes your default for new conversations.
| Context | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Home screen | Your selection becomes the default for new chats |
| Loading a conversation | Temporarily switches to that conversation's agent |
| Returning home | Restores your home screen preference |
This means viewing old conversations won't accidentally change your preferred agent—when you return home, your selection is restored.
Conversation Behavior
Starting a New Conversation
- Your home screen agent selection is used
- If the agent has a greeting, it's displayed
- Any greeting buttons appear for quick actions
- Your first message goes to this agent
Loading from History
When you load a conversation from history:
- The conversation switches to the agent that was used
- Your home screen preference is preserved (not overwritten)
- The conversation continues with its original agent
Locked Agent & Instance
Once a conversation has messages, the agent and connected business instance are permanently locked for that conversation:
- The agent selection submenu is hidden from the profile dropdown and the "+" menu
- The instance selector shows a lock icon and is disabled
- Switching to a different instance while viewing an active conversation triggers re-authentication to the correct instance
This ensures consistency—every message in a conversation uses the same agent and instance context. To use a different agent or instance, start a new conversation.
Agent Indicators
The active agent is shown in the chat header next to the Operator name, so you always know which agent you're talking to. System agents show their built-in name; user-defined agents show the name you gave them.
Browsing Your Agents
The Agents page offers two layouts, switchable with the toggle in the top-right:
- Table view — Compact list with enable/disable and edit/delete actions. Best when you need to scan many agents quickly.
- Gallery view — Visual cards showing a thumbnail of each agent's flow diagram. Best when you recognize your agents by shape, or when picking between several.
Thumbnails reflect the agent's most recently generated diagram. If a card shows "No diagram yet", open the agent and use the Diagram panel to generate one — the thumbnail will appear automatically on your next visit. Shared agents show their owner's diagram (read-only).
Your chosen view is remembered across sessions.
Tips
- Use home screen wisely — Set it to your most frequently used agent
- Watch the header — Always know which agent you're talking to
- Greeting buttons — Use them to jumpstart common workflows
